Overview

GeoX™ opportunity assessor is an integrated prospect assessment solution designed to accelerate exploration planning. It provides easy access and a comprehensive portfolio overview, enabling users to review, compare, rank, and prioritize leads and prospects by risk, resource, and value. GeoX opportunity assessor is fully integrated with GeoX exploration risk, resource, and value assessment software, and Petrel™ subsurface software workflows, on the Delfi™ digital platform.

Definitions

  • Basin: A depression in the Earth’s crust where sediments accumulate due to tectonic activity and subsidence.

  • Play: An area where hydrocarbon accumulations or prospects of a given type occur.

  • Prospect: An exploration area where hydrocarbons are predicted to exist in economic quantities.

  • Segment: The smallest assessable unit in GeoX opportunity assessor and GeoX software; a prospect typically consists of multiple segments.

  • Prospect analysis: Assessment of hydrocarbon volumes and associated risks for a prospect.

  • Multiple Scenario Analysis : Stochastic aggregation of weighted alternative scenarios for a prospect.

  • Full Cycle Analysis: Evaluation of prospect value, including KPIs such as Expected Monetary Value (EMV), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Profitability Index (PI), along with production forecasts and cost elements.

  • License: A government-issued right to exploit hydrocarbon resources in a defined area.
