Ocean for Techlog is tied to a Techlog release but distributed as a different installer. Techlog and Visual Studio should be installed prior to installing Ocean for Techlog. Since Ocean for Techlog will add wizards to Visual Studio to help with Techlog plug-in development. The Ocean for Techlog installation kit can be downloaded from the Software Download Center and will install the following:

• Documentation
• Plug-in examples
• Techlog user folder
• Visual Studio Extensions
• 3rd party software

The following third-party software is provided for developing Ocean for Techlog plug-ins:

• QT libraries and header files
• Google Test libraries and header files

An Ocean Developers License is legally required to create new Ocean for Techlog plug-ins. The licensing of the plug-in is the responsibility of the plug-in developer and the Ocean API provides classes to help with the licensing. An Ocean Developers License provides access to all licensable modules of Techlog. When running Techlog using an Ocean Developers License the windows will be watermarked indicating that the Ocean Developers License is in use.
